Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB)

Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB)

Lead Rubber Bearing [LRB] is one of the seismic isolators that are commonly used in seismic isolation when the energy dissipation requirement is high, usually in the range of hysteresis damping between 12 to 30% depending on the superstructure design. LRB consists of laminated layers of elastomeric (rubber) and steel plates that are bonded through vulcanization process. The presence of internal steel plates is to increase the vertical load carrying capacity of the bearing especially under large shear displacement. The hysteresis damping is significantly depending on the high purity lead core rather than the elastomeric layers.
The LRBs listed in this catalogue are selected design based on European Standards, with soft rubber compound [S] and nominal rubber compound [N] for general reference by project owners and structural designers as a preliminary guidance. We strongly encourage customized design of LRB to suit for each project needs rather than standardized items. We are able to develop customized design for specific project requirements. Hence, we welcome any direct enquiry for further discussion with our clients on project basis as the list contained within this catalogue is not exhaustive.
